[SIGGRAPH Asia 2026] UniMate: One Unified Model to Animate Diverse Skeletons

UniMate is a research project (SIGGRAPH Asia 2026) presenting a single unified model that animates a wide variety of skeleton types — humanoids, quadrupeds, birds, marine creatures, insects, snakes, and articulated objects. It ships training/inference code, preview checkpoints on Hugging Face, an interactive 3D demo, and UniML3D, a large dataset of 13,006 text-paired motion sequences across diverse skeletal topologies.

Why now: Buzzy because it was accepted to SIGGRAPH Asia 2026 and recently released its code, UniML3D dataset, and preview checkpoints, alongside an interactive demo.

Who it is for: Graphics and animation researchers and developers who want to generate motion for arbitrary rigged characters with one model.
