HairDeck: Animation-Ready Stylized Hair Cards from a Single Image
HairDeck is a Python research tool from Tsinghua and collaborators that turns a single image into stylized 3D hair cards plus the spring-bone chains needed to animate them. It uses a set diffusion transformer over hair-card tokens, outputs geometry with per-card UVs, and exports GLB meshes or VRM avatars. It runs on Linux, Windows, and Apple silicon Macs.
Why now: Freshly released (late October 2026) with model weights, an online demo, and rapid Windows and Apple silicon support added within days, driving stars on GitHub's trending list.
Who it is for: Game, anime, and VTuber-style 3D artists and avatar developers who need animatable stylized hair from reference images.
