Kev is a family of small open decision models built on Qwen3.5/3.8, following the Jev architecture. They answer yes/no, multiple-choice, and rating questions with calibrated probabilities. You can use pretrained weights in four sizes (0.8B to 27B), fine-tune on your own labeled data, and serve them locally or with a one-command deploy that scales to zero.
Why now: It's an open, self-hostable drop-in replacement for TypeSafe's hosted Jev API — the TypeSafe SDK works unchanged — and benchmarks show the 27B model approaching Jev's accuracy.
