Hedra is a 3D open world game I wrote from scratch while in highschool. The entire codebase is around +100k LOC
Project Hedra is a low-poly open-world RPG written from scratch in C# starting when the author was a highschooler, alongside a full custom game engine (~100k lines of code). It features procedurally generated infinite worlds, quests, bosses, classes and skill trees, plus an OpenGL renderer, physics, modding, Python scripting, and Steam deployment.
Why now: It was discussed on Hacker News as an impressive solo project: a complete 3D game and engine built from scratch by a teenager, with a 'pre-ai' tag proving the code predates AI-assisted development.
Who it is for: Game developers and hobbyists interested in engine internals, procedural generation, and large solo-built projects.
