Japan's men's 4x100m relay team finished fifth in 38.57 seconds at the Asian Games, missing out on a medal and failing to reclaim the Asian title they had lost. Sprinter Ryota Yamagata-era anchor Fuga Sato featured as attention turned to the relay squad. Kiryu Yoshihide said afterwards that the whole team must think together about what went wrong after the disappointing result.
