Federal immigration agents are conducting raids on meatpacking plants in Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma. In response, the Texas Cattle Feeders Association and other industry groups issued a joint statement warning that these kinds of disruptions will push beef prices higher for consumers and cause heavy disruptions across the entire meat supply chain. The operations and the industry's warnings are drawing attention as concerns mount over food prices and labor shortages.
