Android Developer Verification Program

Google's Android Developer Verification Program is drawing strong criticism from developers, with one widely shared post bluntly rejecting the scheme. The program would require app developers to verify their identity with Google before distributing software on Android, even outside the Play Store. Critics see it as a threat to open distribution and privacy, arguing it gives Google control over who can install software on Android devices.
