Annecy

A fire has broken out at Veyrier-du-Lac, on the shores of Lake Annecy in the French Alps, sending a large plume of smoke visible from across the area. Local outlet L'Essor Savoyard reported the incident, and residents are sharing images and asking about the scale of the blaze and whether homes or natural areas are affected.

SC Films is taking the animated feature 'Cloud Girl', an Annecy Festival title, to international buyers. The sales company is handling distribution rights outside its home market as the film looks to reach audiences worldwide following its festival showcase. Deadline reported the deal, which signals growing buyer interest in independent animation titles emerging from the Annecy line-up.
