A research paper analyzing the privacy practices of web and mobile conversational AI agents has been published by Jorge García Herrero. The analysis, titled 'Prompt like a butterfly, sting like a tracker,' examines how these chatbot services handle user data and what information they may share or track. The paper is drawing significant attention from technology readers online.

Naturalists are highlighting Myscelia cyaniris, the Blue Wave or Royal Blue, a Nymphalid butterfly native to Neotropical rainforests from Mexico to South America. The species is noted for its brilliant iridescent blue-striped wings and unusual feeding habits: adults skip floral nectar, instead feeding on fermenting fruit, tree sap and decaying organic matter.

Researchers at the University of Essex report that butterflies survive predator attacks by using optical illusions in their wing patterns. The findings suggest the insects exploit visual tricks that confuse birds at the moment of attack, shedding new light on how camouflage and deflection markings work in nature.

Federal protection under the Endangered Species Act for the monarch butterfly has been delayed, according to the Nisqually Valley News. The monarch, whose populations have declined sharply due to habitat loss and pesticide use, had been under review for listing. Conservation groups have long pushed for formal protection, and the delay means the butterfly remains without the legal safeguards the designation would provide.
