CHOMPI

CHOMPI, a portable sampler instrument, has released both its hardware and software as open-source. The move lets musicians, tinkerers and developers study, modify and build on the design of the compact sampler. The news is circulating among hardware hacking and music technology communities, where open-sourcing a commercial instrument is seen as a notable and generous step.
