West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is reported to have taken a major decision concerning the state's education sector, covering schools and teachers, drawing reactions from opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari and parties including the BJP and CPI(M). The move is being framed in political commentary as an attempt to push through a significant step while setting aside electoral considerations, with the TMC facing criticism from rivals over its handling of education.
