Center for Humane Technology

Civil society organisations, including the Center for Democracy and Technology, are calling on the European Commission to close loopholes in the EU's rules governing exports of surveillance technology. They argue current rules allow intrusive tools to reach governments that may use them against human rights defenders, journalists and activists. The campaign seeks stricter oversight and expanded controls on dual-use surveillance exports.
