Thirty-three governments are now advising their citizens to keep emergency stockpiles at home, with recommendations ranging from 72 hours to two weeks. In Europe, Austria asks for 10–14 days of supplies, Germany up to 10 days, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Estonia about a week, the UK three days and France 72 hours. Officials frame the guidance as preparation for power cuts, natural disasters and other crises, and the list is being widely shared as a sign of growing official concern about civil preparedness.
