Civil Defense authorities in Rio Grande do Sul are monitoring a new round of severe weather, with forecasters warning that another cyclone could form in the coming days. Rivers remain above flood levels in several areas, though water is receding in parts of the state. The national weather service has issued an orange storm alert for the South region, and forecasts point to heavy rain, strong winds and hail moving into the state on Thursday.
