Drizzle

An amateur astrophotographer has published a deep-sky image of the Fossil Footprint Nebula (NGC 1491) in the constellation Perseus, built from more than 2.5 hours of exposure using a Seestar S50 Pro smart telescope in equatorial mode. The image was drizzled 2x to bring out the dense H-alpha ionization 'claw' carved by the massive O-type star BD+50°886 at the nebula's heart.

A runner headed out despite drizzle, cold, wind and darkness, then felt very satisfied with the decision afterwards. They used a pair of Ibex shoes that had not been worn in almost a year and needed breaking in again. The post is a small, relatable account of pushing through bad weather for a workout and being glad to have done it.

Water-metering startup DrizzleX has raised $6.8 million in funding, with the round including participation from its own customers. The company's technology helps property owners track and bill water usage at the unit level, and the backing of existing clients signals confidence in the product. Details on the round's lead investors and planned use of funds have not been disclosed.
