Farmington Public Library

Farmington Public Library in Maine has started a Garden Seed Lending Program, letting patrons borrow seeds for home gardening and return saved seeds after harvest. Seed libraries have grown in popularity as a way to promote local food growing, biodiversity and community self-sufficiency, and the Farmington initiative follows that model.

Farmington Public Library in Maine hosted an author talk and book signing with Andrew Oliver, giving local readers the chance to hear from the writer and have copies of his work signed. The event was covered by the Daily Bulldog, which reported on the library's continued role in bringing literary programming to the Farmington community.
