Fremont

The story of NUMMI, the Fremont, California plant where Toyota took over one of General Motors' worst factories in the 1980s, rehired many of the same workers, and turned it into one of its best-performing plants, is being retold. The famous joint venture, popularized by a This American Life episode, is now being cited as a management lesson for software engineering.
