The international BASE research collaboration, which includes GSI/FAIR, has achieved a milestone at CERN: for the first time, 92 antiprotons were successfully transported in a mobile trap without any loss. The demonstration shows antimatter particles can be moved between facilities on the ground, opening the way for precision experiments conducted at locations other than CERN and for new antimatter transport technologies.
