The 2025 film Crushed, reviewed by Jennie Kermode for Eye For Film, follows a family in Bangkok whose faith is thrown into crisis after their daughter is kidnapped. The story centres on how the parents cope with the ordeal and what it does to their religious beliefs. It is one of a number of recent releases drawing attention for treating faith and family trauma as intertwined themes.

A Last.fm user shared their weekly listening roundup, led by Japanese artists: LM.C topped the list with 33 plays, followed by Keiko, Final Fantasy composer Masayoshi Soken, rock band the GazettE, and idol group Run Girls, Run!. The user logged 165 scrobbles across the week, showing a heavy tilt toward Japanese rock, anime-adjacent pop, and video game music.

The documentary Derek Vs Derek follows two neighbouring farmers who disagree sharply over how their land should be used, with rewilding at the centre of their conflict. A review on Eye For Film highlights the film as a look at a very local argument with wider relevance, as debates over rewilding versus traditional farming continue to divide rural communities.
