Lalka

A viewer in Poland went to see the film Lalka with his wife despite low expectations, saying Netflix fare had drained his interest in the topic. He came out praising it as a very well-made and genuinely surprising film, one of the best cinema experiences he has had in a long time.

A humorous review of 'Lalka' (The Doll), Bolesław Prus's classic Polish novel featuring the protagonist Wokulski, is being recommended in Polish-speaking circles. The review, shared as a podcast episode, takes a jokey approach to the 19th-century literary classic, and readers are being encouraged to check it out.
