Green SM, the ride-hailing company backed by Vietnam's VinFast, has begun operating VinFast VF8 electric vehicles on the streets of Los Angeles. Unlike Uber and Lyft, Green SM uses salaried employee drivers rather than independent contractors. The move marks VinFast's push into the US mobility market, directly challenging the dominant ride-hailing platforms with an all-electric fleet.
