MONUSCO

The UN stabilization mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, MONUSCO, is providing protection to civilians fleeing violence in Ituri province. The announcement comes amid ongoing armed conflict in the eastern DRC, where attacks on villages have displaced large numbers of people. The mission says its forces are sheltering those escaping the fighting.
