German wiki software company BlueSpice (Hallo Welt) announced a major update to its migration tool that moves content from Atlassian's Confluence to BlueSpice, which is based on MediaWiki. Version 7.0.0, published on GitHub, dramatically improves performance. The release comes as many organisations look for open-source alternatives to Confluence following Atlassian's licensing and cloud shifts.

The Semantic MediaWiki project has released versions 7.3.0 and 7.3.1, both containing security improvements. Version 7.3.1 is the recommended upgrade, adding stricter permission checks, stronger output escaping and protection against resource exhaustion. The maintainers warn that nearly all of the fixed issues also affect older versions, so installations on earlier releases should update promptly.
