Thunderstorms, hail and strong winds have prompted a severe weather alert across six Italian regions, with forecaster Andrea Giuliacci calling it the start of the autumn turnaround. The hot Mediterranean is fueling more powerful storms, while flooding in Valencia, Spain, has disrupted transport after more than 110 mm of rain fell on Moncada.
