Napoleone Ferrara

Italian-American scientist Napoleone Ferrara has been awarded the 2026 Yergin Family International Prize for Biomedical Research. Ferrara, known for his pioneering work on vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its role in developing treatments for eye disease and cancer, is affiliated with UC San Diego. The award recognizes major contributions to biomedical science.
