The arms embargo on Darfur expires on Saturday and must be renewed by the UN Security Council. German daily taz reports the deadline, linking the issue to the RSF's war in Sudan and pointing to the role of the UAE, as well as the conflict's spread toward Libya, Chad's borderlands and beyond. Commenters are warning that letting the embargo lapse would fuel further violence in the region.
