Barcelona midfielder Fermín López is in the spotlight after being left out of the squad against PSG, with coach Hansi Flick now giving him the opportunity he had asked for. In recent interviews, Fermín spoke about the Champions League, his competition for a place with Dani Olmo, and the signings that surprised him most. He also discussed learning Catalan to integrate and respect local culture.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is managing a growing injury list at a critical point in the season. Eric García has been ruled out of the upcoming games against PSG and Real Madrid after picking up an injury against Real Betis, while Jules Koundé will also miss the trip to Paris. Flick addressed the defensive absences, spoke about Koundé, Dani Olmo, Rodri and Mourinho, and referees ahead of the Clásico. He also praised Lamine Yamal, saying he is special and in no need of interruption. Barcelona have meanwhile travelled to Istanbul for a Champions League fixture.
