Ontario Student Assistance Program

Students in Guelph are preparing to join a provincewide walkout in Ontario protesting changes and cuts to the Ontario Student Assistance Program. The demonstration is part of broader student action across the province against reduced financial support for post-secondary education. Organisers say the walkout is meant to pressure the provincial government to restore funding and improve access to student aid.

Students in Ontario are preparing to walk out of classes tomorrow, citing concerns about the provincial student aid application. The protest follows reporting linking OSAP applications to the collection of IP addresses, raising privacy questions about how the Ontario Student Assistance Program handles applicants' data. The walkout is being organized under Ontario education and politics hashtags, with college and university students urged to take part.
