Pebble Time 2

The USGA has added Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, as its fourth 'anchor site', a designation that commits the historic course to hosting a steady rotation of future USGA championships. Merion, a five-time U.S. Open venue, joins Pinehurst No. 2, Oakmont and Pebble Beach in the programme, giving the governing body a reliable home for its biggest events.

A Pebble Time 2 owner plans to pair the smartwatch with an iPhone via the official app, while filtering network traffic through a Pi-hole that blocks tracking services such as Mixpanel, Google APIs and Crashlytics. They are asking the community whether blocking those connections could impair the watch's functionality, a concern other privacy-minded wearable users are weighing in on.

Pebble's Time Round 2 smartwatch is preparing to ship, while DroidDeck aims to bring Steam gaming to Android-based handheld devices. The roundup also covers Magisk being run on Googlebooks. The items are bundled in a technology news roundup covering gadgets, handheld gaming, and Android tinkering.
