Polson

A claim circulating online states that Nicholas Polson, a professor of statistics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, has authored 258 academic papers in 2026 so far. Commenters are questioning the figure, debating whether it reflects genuine authorship, co-authorship at scale, or errors in publication databases. The number has drawn attention to how prolific academic publishing has become and how credit is counted.
