Roland Garros Airport on the French island of Réunion has been built to stay cool using natural ventilation alone, with no air conditioning. Designed around local trade winds and airflow through its terminal structure, the project is being held up as an example of how tropical airports can cut energy use and emissions while remaining comfortable for passengers.
