Ryanair

A Ryanair flight bound for Alicante, Spain made an emergency landing in Toulouse, France after drunk British passengers began fighting onboard. French Gendarmerie officers boarded the aircraft to arrest the group involved, and footage circulating online shows one passenger appearing to confront the officers during the arrests. The incident is drawing widespread attention and ridicule on social media.

Ryanair has disclosed that around 1,000 of its flights were cancelled last month, blaming disruption including UK air traffic control problems. The figures also point to other causes such as strikes in Belgium and Mount Etna volcanic activity, with Wizz Air affected as well. The airline has been pressing for accountability, including criticism directed at UK Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander over the air traffic failures.
