Shinji Kaneko's debut film and first starring role, 'Ryuji', is returning to cinemas nationwide in Japan on October 23 in a newly remastered 4K scan. The restoration brings renewed attention to the cult yakuza actor's rare turn as a leading man shortly before his death. Film fans and Japanese media outlets are marking the announcement as a chance to rediscover a hard-to-see piece of 1980s Japanese cinema on the big screen.
