SAFE defence loan scheme

Around €20 billion remains unallocated under the EU's SAFE defence loan scheme, the €150 billion instrument designed to help member states jointly borrow and invest in weapons and military capability. The question now is which governments will draw on the remaining funds as Europe continues to expand defence spending in response to security concerns.
