Shadow Series

South Africa and Australia face off in the first Test at Durban, with the opening day's toss under way. The match comes shortly after South Africa sealed the one-day series, powered by centuries from David Miller and Temba Bavuma, and with the World Cup approaching the Proteas are eyeing a full series sweep. The fixture also revives memories of the sandpaper ball-tampering affair that has shadowed meetings between the two teams.

Australia captain Pat Cummins says the team has 'moved on' from the Sandpapergate ball-tampering scandal ahead of their series against South Africa. His comments come as South Africa suffer a setback with fast bowler Kagiso Rabada ruled out. The remarks renew discussion of the 2018 tampering affair and its lingering shadow over Australia cricket, while Rabada's absence is a major blow to South Africa's attack.
