California is rushing to prepare for a massive 'Kelvin' wave and predicted sea level rise, according to a Guardian report. Kelvin waves, associated with the El Niño-Southern Oscillation, can temporarily raise ocean levels along the US West Coast, and officials are said to be taking measures against the combined threat of the wave and longer-term rising seas.
