Spotted lanternfly

Michigan officials have confirmed the presence of the invasive spotted lanternfly in Berrien County, marking a new detection of the pest in the state. The insect threatens grapes, fruit trees and other crops, and residents are being asked to report sightings and destroy the insects or their egg masses to help slow its spread.
