Stratton

Painter Joan Stratton has shared a new artwork depicting a moonlit night over still water, with mangroves silhouetted like sentinels under a soft glowing moon. The piece is presented as a meditation on quiet, suspended moments in nature, and the artist is inviting viewers to see more of her featured works through her online gallery.

Juliana Stratton won her race, a result being described as a historic first for women of color in national politics. The victory makes her the first woman of color to hold the office she was elected to, according to Chicago public radio reporting. Observers are highlighting the milestone as a symbolic moment for representation in American political leadership.
