Robert Redford, the Oscar-winning actor, director and founder of the Sundance Institute, has died at the age of 89, marked by the dagger symbol widely used in obituaries. German and US outlets are running career retrospectives: Filmstarts highlights his best-rated film at 4.4 of 5 stars, revisits his disillusionment with Hollywood — "in Hollywood it's not about art" — while Yahoo notes a largely forgotten 2001 prison film now ranked among the best of all time.
