The Book Hub

Portland has grown into a significant hub for the American comic book industry, home to major publishers like Dark Horse Comics and Oni Press as well as a dense community of cartoonists, independent creators and comics-related events. The city's combination of affordable creative culture, zine and DIY roots, and established publishers has made it one of the key centers for comic production in the United States.

Literary Hub has published its roundup of the 12 best book covers of September, highlighting the standout jacket designs from this month's new releases. Such monthly design roundups draw attention to the visual artistry of publishing and often spark discussion among readers, designers, and authors about which covers succeed and why.
