The Fixers

A writing community weekend challenge is asking readers to name fictional supporting characters who deserved to be protagonists: the healer with no backstory, the engineer who kept the ship alive, the friend holding the ensemble together while the hero got the arc. Entries span books, film, TV and games, with participants arguing that the quiet fixers and caretakers of fiction are often more compelling than the heroes they serve.
