Ukraine's Kherson regional administration has published footage of an operation delivering four tonnes of food to civilians in Oleshky, a town in Russian-occupied Kherson oblast, where residents are reportedly facing food shortages. The delivery underscores the dire humanitarian conditions in occupied territory near the Dnipro delta and Kyiv's continued efforts to reach civilians cut off by the front line.

Ukraine has raised the alarm over conditions in Oleshky, a city in Kherson region under Russian occupation since 2022. According to Ukrainian officials, civilians trapped there are being deliberately starved and some have been forced to eat grass to survive. Kyiv is describing the situation as a war crime and is pressing international partners, including bodies in Brussels, to respond to the reports of intentional deprivation of food among residents unable to flee.
