backyard project

Residents of Ocean Beach in San Diego are pushing back against a proposal to build 12 accessory dwelling units in the backyard of a single-family home on Del Mar Avenue. The plan has sparked concern among neighbors, who argue such dense development is out of step with the area's single-family character. The dispute highlights ongoing tensions over California's state rules encouraging ADU construction amid the housing shortage.
