- 1MLB's automated strike-zone system overturns a strike-two call▼Strike 2 overturned after ABS challenge
An MLB game saw a called second strike overturned after the catcher or batter triggered an Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) challenge, with the electronic system ruling the pitch outside the zone. The overturn changed the count and moved the at-bat in the pitching team's favour or the batter's, depending on the original call. It is another visible example of ABS reshaping umpire decisions as Major League Baseball expands its trial of robot umpires in the 2025 season.
