chimpanzees

New research reported by Popular Science suggests chimpanzees are less likely to steal pineapple from individuals they share a friendly bond with, indicating that social relationships influence how the animals treat each other's belongings. The findings offer further evidence that chimps follow informal social rules and show favoritism toward friends, a trait often assumed to be uniquely human.
