common carder bumblebee

Nature photography of a common carder bumblebee (Bombus pascuorum) resting on a bright violet cranesbill (Geranium) flower is being shared under the German hashtag Insektensamstag, or Insect Saturday, a regular weekend theme where people post photos of insects. The image, posted with Saturday morning greetings, highlights everyday pollinators and joins a wider stream of insect, bee and wildlife photography shared by hobby naturalists.

Nature photographers are sharing close-up images of the common carder bumblebee (Bombus pascuorum), a widespread European species known in Dutch as the akkerhommel. The shots highlight the bee's fuzzy, ginger-coloured body and its role as a pollinator, with enthusiasts exchanging macro photography tips and tagging wildlife and insect photography communities.
