edge computing

A new partnership is bringing quantum science education to Hamilton County schools. The collaboration aims to introduce students in the district to quantum computing and physics concepts, expanding access to an emerging field of technology. Further details about the partners and program scope have not been widely reported.

Netlify announced it has migrated its Edge Functions from V8 isolates to AWS's Firecracker MicroVMs, claiming performance improvements of up to five times. The move combines Firecracker's lightweight virtualisation with V8 isolates running inside the microVMs, aiming to reduce cold start times and improve reliability for serverless edge workloads. The change has drawn attention among developers interested in edge computing and serverless infrastructure performance.
