California wildlife officials are warning people not to pick up young deer found alone, a practice they call 'fawn-napping'. They say doe deer routinely leave fawns hidden while they forage, and removing them causes the animals 'incredible stress' and harms their chances of survival. The advice comes as fawning season brings more encounters between people and young deer across the state.
