Japan's Fair Trade Commission has found 42 companies violated antitrust law by colluding on large-scale repair work at condominiums across Tokyo and six surrounding prefectures. Design and consulting firms were central to the scheme, and the commission ordered about 1.6 billion yen in surcharge payments. It publicly named 171 condominiums involved, saying residents may have been overcharged for repair costs.
