Engineers have unveiled a small robot called Albatross that mimics the way a leaf or gliding seed travels on the wind. It can drop from height, spin and self-right when it lands, then set off across the ground, suggesting a lightweight design for cheap, deployable robots that scatter over wide areas for sensing or delivery tasks.
